Event Specifics

  • What: Rocket League Friendly Tournament Mixer
  • When: April 20, 2019
    • 1-10PM
  • Where: Cross, DIY Room, 116 4th St, Norman, OK
  • What: We will be facilitating a community focused tournament in Rocket League(PC) where you can come as a free agent or signup as a team. We will balance teams to the best of our ability and facilitate tournament play. There are restaurants on site.
  • Who: OU Students/staff/faculty (OU ID CARD REQUIRED TO ENTER UNTIL 6)

1V1

      • 1st = Rocket League pint glass + $30 Amazon Gift Card (Email)
      • 2nd = Rocket League pint glass + $15 Amazon Gift Card (Email)
      • 3rd = $10 Amazon Gift Card (Email)

2v2

      • 1st = Rocket League pint glass each + $20 Amazon Store Card each (Email)
      • 2nd = Rocket League pint glass each +$10 Amazon Store Card each (Email)
      • 3rd = $10 Amazon Store Card each (Email)

 

  • What do you need to bring: Computers, headsets, keyboard, mouse are supplied. There are restaurants on site. 2v2 Tournament Sign-Ups will be held on smash.gg with the 1v1 Tournament bracket being generated the day of. The first 20 people to sign up on smash.gg will receive a 1:64 scale Hot Wheels Octane.
  • Anything else? The whole purpose of this event is to showcase that the OU Esports Club is all about gaming first and foremost. We also want to cater to every demographic we can from casual to competitive, console to PC, FPS to MOBA, etc. We will accomplish this with more and more programming from this point on. We appreciate your patience while we got this all going, but now we have a team dedicated to campus programming. Not interested in Rocket League? We have more coming! Stay tuned!

Event coordination and tournament organization are under the guidance of Rylan Sorensen, the Rocket League Ambassador, and Noah Hassoun, the general programming ambassador as part of the collective efforts underneath Callie Simonton, the Community Director.  We appreciate your interest in our event and hope to see you there! Mike "Moog" Aguilar

Mike "Moog" Aguilar is the Director of Esports & Co-Curricular Innovation at OU. He also works for OU IT doing project management and business analysis as well as an adjunct instructor for the Gaylord College of Journalism & Mass Communication. He is a US Army veteran, has worked for Apple, worked in the public sector, and is a photographer of two decades. Mike has been a gamer since the Atari in the 80s and has been pioneering esports and gaming development and innovation at OU since 2016.
