WELCOME BACK SOONERS!! SPRING PROGRAMMING OVERVIEW (Spring 2019 Edition – Developing)

This past semester we joined forces with Sooner Smash Brothers to become a single entity, we entered into intercollegiate competition development in Smash Ultimate and Melee, and we gained Competitive Club status which made us an officially licensed and endorsed club at OU effectively making our name The OU Esports Club.

We’ve had several milestones since we’ve been founded in Sept 2017 and we have a lot more coming. We want to start spreading our energies across campus to those who may think we’re only about esports and competitive gaming. The honest truth is less than half of our 470 member base currently are part of our intercollegiate developments. We are developing programming for everyone, casual gamers, tabletop, streamers, and more! Let’s talk a bit about what’s happening January and February.

Opportunities in OU Esports Club

This semester we will be looking for replacements for our highest tier of leadership due to graduating seniors! This means you can fill the roles of the most progressive and developing industry correlating organization on campus. These opportunities are only available to organization members! There are multiple programs we have running which you can learn about by clicking the logo next to this paragraph.

INTERCOLLEGIATE COMPETITION OPPORTUNITIES

We are also ramping up recruiting for two new games, Fortnite, Smash Melee, and Magic the Gathering Arena and looking for further roster bolstering in League of Legends. We are currently developing in the above-mentioned titles plus Overwatch, Hearthstone, Rocket League, and Smash Ultimate. The application for this is only available to members of the club. If you have questions don’t hesitate to email ouesports@ou.edu.
